Graphing- Day 6 Authors: Randi Longmeyer and Ann O’Malley
NE Standards: 4.1.3 Students will be describe and apply relationships between numbers by order, comparison, and across the operation, such as subtraction as the opposite of addition and multiplication as repeated addition. 4.5.1
Students will collect, organize, represent, and interpret numerical and
categorical data and clearly communicate the findings. Objectives: Finish
weather graphs from previous class. After completing the weather graph, the
girls have the option of making a get-well card for Mrs. O’Malley’s mother
or doing a worksheet that looks at rainfall differences around the world and
compared climates Provision for special needs: explain the directions very clearly and let every
student get the chance to answer questions. Materials: glue,
scissors, construction paper, materials from previous day Procedures:
Springboard: Teacher:
We will explain to the students the agenda for the
day. We will then let the students complete the project with our guidance and
then work independently to make a get well card. Student: Each girl will put effort towards completing the
bar graph, with the directions that are given at the beginning of the class and
by asking questions Closure: After
the graph is complete we will compare the graph to the other types of bar graphs
we have made previously. We will hang the bar graph up and answer and last
minute questions
